Blind Boone Home

History of the Foundation

The volunteers keeping a legacy alive.

Our Mission

Preservation, education, and community

The John William Boone Heritage Foundation exists to preserve the Boone Home and share the story of one of America’s most remarkable musicians. What began as an effort to save a historic house has grown into an ongoing mission of preservation, education, and community.

How We Got Here

Saved, restored, and listed

Through the dedication of volunteers, community partners, and the City of Columbia, the home was preserved, restored, and placed on the National Register of Historic Places. Today the Foundation continues that work — hosting tours, events, and programs that keep Boone’s legacy present.
